Thank you for sharing this wonderful study you were part of! It would be interesting to know about the role neuroplasticity, and placebo/nocebo effects may have played in both groups.

Either way, it does seem like there are meaningful benefits to a regular yoga practice. 😊

Yes, it would definitely be interesting! These are such tough things to find out in these studies because it’s not like everyone gets a pill and they all look the same, whether medication or placebo.

Yoga by itself is so difficult to study because there are so many components to it. And then the teacher and student personality really make a difference. If you’re not into it, the effect of course can’t be amazing, but your neighbor might love it and totally get into the flow.

I did physiological studies on just breathing exercises and autonomic nervous system challenges, so you can look at just single components, that’s a start.

I agree for sure, that’s why lifestyle is so difficult to study, but in my opinion, sometimes we just have to trust our gut 😊
